Default Rumble lid stop

I put new rubber stops on my Cabriolet and kept thinking something was wrong. Could not figure out how the lid stopped on them. Finally figured out that they are on backwards and have been since ?????. Look at my pic and see if you agree.

they are on correct. when you open your rumble lid they should stop it. are they not hitting the lid, some of the after market stops don`t fit worth a s--t.

Also you often need to trim the rubber bumper so that it hits only the edge of the inner liner
If it hits the edge of the skin it will bend it in time
I really can't tell from the pic is a rubber bumper on the metal stand?

I had to take another look and I see now you have the rubber bumper under the bracket they should be on the top. where you have them it will not hit the lid.

Anyone got a picture of their rumble lid stops? If I put the rubber stops on top of the bracket I would have to remove the bracket, put the rubber stops on and put the bracket back on. Correct? There were no rubber stops on here, only a piece of metal bar wired on. You buy a nice looking car and think everything is done correctly, not so.

is there two screws in the top of the bracket. it is hard to tell in your picture. the bracket it self should not need to be removed to install the rubber bumper. the screws are install from the top and there is nuts & lock washers under the bracket, you can get right to them with out removing the bracket.

My great looking '31 roadster I bought last August has two blocks of wood with a rubber strip from an innertube for rumble lid stops. It works and mayby that was all that the owner back in the fifties could find. I wish I knew last year all to look for in a '31 Model A roadster that I have learned in the past 6 months,or knew someone to look at it with me. Still I would not know without this car and the forum. One day I see something really great and original the next day not so good.
