Default Canvass top

A friend (professional) helped me install the canvass top on my Roadster. We attached it in warm weather and it was tight. Now it is relaxing a bit. We are in a heat wave here (temps in high 80's). Should I wet the top a little and let it draw in the sun? Seems that I remember my old camping tent would tighten up after a rain and then sunshine. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks, BW

You don't mention if the top was ready made or or cut and sewn by your friend. Knowing the fabric type would help too. I would aske the folks at your point of purchase. Generally speaking convertible tops tend to shrink on their own.

This is a Cartouche canvas top. It was pre-cut, but had to be fitted to the top irons and wood. The humidity has been high here. Perhaps that is why the top is not so tight now. BW

It still depends on the fabric. If it's Hartz Stayfast it will be synthetic and typcally nothing you can do unless the underside is cotton drill. Then wetting the bottom MAY help.
