Default 29 Tudor windshield electric wiper questions

I finally have the windshield installed and now I am working on the electric wiper.

I know what the three holes are for where the wiper motor attaches to the windshield frame but what is that one hole that is more towards the center of the upper hinge--see picture

I want to add a ground wire to the wiper motor. I have little faith in the original ground connection. Any ideas on how to route the ground wire?

When I first got this car the wiper motor was in a box in the back seat, so I did not know how everything went together. I noticed the the center hole where the motor is mounted is slotted so that the hand lever has room to move when the windshield is opened. However, the other two holes are not notched. Is that the way it is supposed to be?

Any help is appreciated.

I have the same body style and year and windshield frame.

None of my holes are notched...they are all round.

You should have 5 holes...two for mounting, 1 to connect the electrical wire to the terminal, 1 for use as a "hand" operation if the electrical circut is broken, and 1 for the on-off lever.

Which style of wiper do you actually have?

My tudor is long gone, but I think that the picture you've posted is of a 1928 body which used a different motor.

The notched hole is actually on the upper hinge part. The windshield FRAME is not notched.

I researched the body number a while back--all that I remember is that the body is definitely a 1929. See body number photo attached. The 3rd figure is either a 3 or a 5.

The oval hole in the upper windshield hinge is for the electric wire to pass from inside the header panel to the wiper motor.

I'm confused! Could you verify the labeled pictures that I have attached--and correct me if they are wrong.

Do you have an electric wiper on your Tudor? If so, could you get me a pix of the inside header area where the wiper levers are located?

I am having trouble understanding why all three holes in the upper hinge area are not slotted.

Simply, there is only one slot in the hinge, and that is for the manual override lever, the center lever on your picture above. Notice that it is longer than the on/off lever and the electrical stud. The wiper is mounted on the outside of the windshield frame and when the windshield is opened, that slot allows the manual override lever to angle downward. The on/off lever and electrical stud are shorter and clear the upper hinge when the windshield is opened. My Tudor has an OD-C1B, not the HA-C1 as you have pictured above. Though the lever locations and mounting holes are different, the principal is the same as I explained above.
