Default Swaging hubs

Sure this has been covered.

Is a 20 ton press enough to swage lug bolts to hubs and drums?

Seems like it would take closer to 30 Ton to get it done right?

Thanks

No, a 20 ton Chinese press will not do the job. It takes an honest 22-23 tons to swage the lugs so use at least a 30 ton press.

I ended up right at 24 on mine when they were tight.

Consider sending your drum/s to Bert's in Colorado. Steve does this all the time and the turnaround is fast. If you have not done this before it requires a talented approach and the correct tools or you will damage the drum. After the job is done the drum needs to be checked to be sure it is still true.
