Libyan Sands
Just finished reading "Libyan Sands" by R Bagnold, for the second time. A good read and one of the greatest tributes to the durability of the Model A Ford by someone who relied on it for his very existence. Still available from some bookshops (ISBN 978 1 906011 33 8).

Re: Libyan Sands
Libyan Sands is one of the best travel books ever for the armchair-traveller. Original footage of some of the journeys Bagnold made are available online (in the UK anyway) via British Film institute at https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/...ld-1930-online
Another excellent Model A Ford related travel book is The Diabolical by H H MacWilliams - overland from Palestine to England in the 1930s in an AA truck. |

Re: Libyan Sands
I read a book about the Desert Rats that drove Model A's early on and the pre-war reconnoitering was in Model A's. Can't remember the title now.
