Default My Brother's Transmission

My brother who lives in Dallas TX, was driving his 30 coupe yesterday and shifted into 2nd gear. He said he heard a loud bang, and now it has a hole in the case.

If anyone in the Dallas area has a good used tranny for sale, I can pass it onto him?

John

ouch... break a shifter fork off and jam some things? Should be pretty easy to find near him. Im bettin it boogered up the gears as well unfortinately and may have trashed the bearings on the way out.

You can find a transmission (and just about anything else) at the Pate Swap Meet held on April 27-29, 2018 at the Texas Motor Speedway located at IH35 West and State Highway 114 about 20 miles North of Ft. Worth. Admission free.

someone just did some shoddy work to the tower and it managed to get into 2 gears at once. He needs more than a new tranny, he needs a new mechanic. There is no other way to blow a case. The guts are now junk

1928?
If so, then is it multiplate, or single plate clutch?

Through word of mouth, my brother located a transmission at a good price. Its clean inside and the gears look good. He has a friend in his area that rebuilds them for a living so he's all set.

Thanks for suggestions

Can we get pics of the guts of the old one for curiosity sake? Or at least fill us in at what the heck happened.
