Default 1936 Sending unit float

Was the original 1936 fuel sending unit float cork or brass? The one I took out of my fuel tank is cork but the cork is just about disintegrated. When I check the aftermarket ones, they list brass as the original.

Mine is brass.... I had to repair it. It was full of petrol due to a couple of pinholes. I soldered them up and it works fine now.

The original float in my '37 was cork. See this thread > https://fordbarn.com/forum/showthrea...ght=cork+float

That looks exactly like mine after I removed what was left of the cork.
