I fully agree. Tom is a genius on anything mechanical. I only wish I knew a fourth of what he does I'd be set

Congratulations to one of the best contributors ever to the Model A Ford hobby. He sure has helped me out too, numerous times directly and with his posts here on FB. Makes the hobby a lot more enjoyable for sure.

Posting here is not going to help, HE needs to reply or post questions himself to get over the 25,000 number. But WOW!

Why does the song "You talk to much" by Joe Jones (1960) keep playing in my head?

But seriously...Thanks Tom for you help, but mostly your humor.

Thanks guys...............no applause, just send money!
Let's see now, at $10 an answer..........LOL

I went to a GM site just for kicks a few years ago, and they asked for a $10 or $15 "donation" for each answer. Just for fun I asked how to change a thermostat on a 1991 Olds 88 with a 3.8 engine. The guy gave the wrong answer and wanted money.

Speaking of Studebaker........I got some bad news today about my neighbor's 1950 nice original low mileage Champion 2 door sedan. He traded it, plus a 1994 Corvette, plus a lot of money for a 2006 Corvette. To me that Studebaker alone was worth more than the Corvette. It certainly is more practical and comfortable. Ellingson sold the Studebaker the first day.

Ellingson's is located in Rogers, MN and they sell antique and collector cars.

It is never a wise move, to trade an antique car towards something like a 10 year old Vette that will continue to depreciate. Look at 70's Vettes what they are doing money wise. Virtually nothing. They are flat and have low value. They're a used car nothing more.

I have a friend who was a Chevy fanatic. About four years ago, a collector car dealer in Iowa talked him into trading his MINT #1 condition show car '69 Camaro RS plus cash (??), towards a brand new Camaro. We all told him not to do it but he did. His car was worth more than a new Camaro anyway.

About four months later, it was sitting along the highway with a 'For Sale' sign in the window. I saw Eddie uptown and asked him 'What gives?' He said 'I wish I had listened to you guys. I found out I didn't really like that new Camaro and wanted my '69 back.' It was sold before it hit the lot. They had somebody lined up to buy it beforehand. It was long gone.

He got so upset, he is completely out of old cars now, drives a Grandma Silver Camry that you see everywhere, and he used to be Mr. Chevrolet. Not now.
