Old Philadelphia ford dealership paper weight
My dad had this for years. I didn't realize what it was until I got a model t and seen it was a steering gear cover.

Cool! Glue a piece of black felt on the bottom and use it, if your not.

I just took a look on google Earth. Presently that address is vacant. Broad and Wood it is next to The Packard Building. Packard Sold and serviced cars there back then. In 1971 I was told of the adventures of working there by my Co worker who was 72 at the time. They used to bring cars to the upper floors on elevators. He spoke of a fellow who had just begun to work there. The fellow set his wrenches on the floor while working. Management informed him that was unacceptable, as Packard was an expensive high quality automobile. He had to pack up and leave. In the late forties my dad pumped Gulf gas at Broad and Cherry. Like a street south of Packard. My avatar has a brass plaque on the dash from Cyrus Smith West Oak Lane Philadelphia. Also It sports a steering hub lock manufactured by Foxcraft Industries Philadelphia.
