Default 1941 ford hood release passanger car

Putting a car back together that someone else partial dismantled for a re wire. The dash was out of the car. I got it back together now and the hood cable is missing all together. For now i am going to use a choke cable.

The question is, is there a bracket that mounts it under the dash? I have a box of odds and ends in the trunk with a couple different style of what looks like dash brackets but could just be aftermarket western auto heater controls

Mine has a bracket on the far left of the dash. Goes straight out to clips on inner fender.

Does it use the corner bolt that holds the lower corner of the dashboard to the body? This dash has a bunch of extra holes on the bottom flange from previous owners mounting stuff like switches

On mine the bracket uses a hole about 3 7/8 inches inboard of the one you are referring to; sort of between the start button and the light switch.

Early model year '41. Replacement Cable and repro dash bracket, but mounted to the hole on the bottom of the dash where the original bracket was.

That looks like the original hood pull bracket that was on my '41. It was pot metal and broken. The replacement part I got is unpainted steel and has a slot into the hole, so the knob does not have to come off to get the pull cable through the bracket hole.

This one is pot metal and has a D shaped hole for the cable. The mount hole to the dash looks like it might have been drilled out.

Got the hood release bracket figured out and the dash back together. The last piece to figure out is the dash brace. I found it in the trunk. I know how the dash brace mounts in a 40 ford but no clue on a 41.
Does anyone have a picture?

I did install a newport engineering electric windsheild wiper kit which fits great and works a lot better then the vacuum set up. Hope the brace doesnt interfer with it

Here are some original photos of a Genuine 1941 Ford Hood Pull with bracket and cable. They are some nice clear close-up of the parts so you can see exactly what it looked like.
