PeteHoovie, Your string wind clock didn't appear until July of 1935 and continued into 1936 until replaced by the brown faced string wound.

I could be wrong but I think someone has made excellent copies of original, correct glass. Also, (While I'm rolling) When you mount the mirror clock to the bracket, put a small piece of fabric to protect the back of glass from the the metal of the bracket. This was standard on original installations. Usually left over interior scraps.

fourdoors - the glass you refer to for my clock is the mirror itself. The silvering is removed from the back of the mirror forming a round clear opening in the area where the face of the clock goes. The clock as you see pictured just slides onto the backside of mirror until it gets to the clear spot in the mirror. With the clock removed from the mirror you see what looks to be a hole in the mirror where there is no silvering, just clear glass....

Yes. I didn't think I had to point out that obvious detail. I own over a hundred of these of these cool accessories. I used to rebuild them when I could see unaided! I also have a ton of mirrors for clocks with the un silvered area to accommodate the clock face. But they are not correct for your clock. Your mirror had the rounded ends with a red V8 logo in the center of the un silvered clock face area and also a white painted ring around the un-silvered area.

Here's a picture of my mirror with the clock installed in my car. No red V8 logo or white painted ring....
Note that the ends of my mirror are not as rounded as the mirror you pictured....

My 1933 Standard has a 4.5 in long mirror with curved edges. I assume original, looks antique.

Here's the mirror in my British 35 Coupe. Swiss Made but I can't see the makers name without removing it from the case.

It might be "Smith's" They have their clocks mounted in the center of the mirror instead of the end.

Below is an original 34, side wind, mirror clock without the mirror. If your looking for one for your 33 I would suggest the rear wind, since it is slightly earlier. The rear wind uses a different mirror from the side wind.
