Default Need a distributor

Hey guys,

I am looking for a rebuilt crab style distributor. I had one coming from bubba but he is not responding to my emails anymore and I need one as quick as possible. I know he was ill and now retiring but not answering my emails is making me think I am never going to get it. Is there another member here who can supply one?

I sent him a PM message for one too but a helmet (1940). Maybe a call would work better.

Vanspeed

He’s been responding to PM here. I’m confident, if you paid Jim for a crab you will get it. Be patient in these difficult time.

If you haven’t sent Jim money, try CharleNY also on barn.

We usually have them rebuilt on the shelf ready to go, or send me yours and it’ll only be a three day turnaround

I tried calling, number is disconnected. I sent him money last month but his lack of responding to my emails has me bothered. Last time he responded was 9 days ago and said he would have it done that day and shipped out. I live near Detroit, he is in Indianapolis. I should have had it pretty quick. I am just going to try and get my money back. He knows I was in a hurry as I have my car registered for the Detroit autorama. I understand his circumstances, but responding to me is what I need.

Chill out dude. I have sent them off and get them a month later. It's going to happen. Don't worry. Never watch grass grow so you can cut it. Car doesn't need to run for a show. Ask Ed Roth.

I've only been on this site for 10yrs and more on others. Never seen a bad review about Jim. Have some respect.

I have a extra bubba crab in plastic. Hanging on to it.

This might give you a clue!

The last year has been rough on me as I do Dialysis three days a week . Also I am having a heart procedure in the next couple weeks to remove a 90% blockage .

JSeery, Hard to miss if you pay any attention on here. Some people. Hate to say it (or not)... but a car is just a car. Would have been way cooler to ask if anyone had a rebuild crab available. Can't imagine it's not possible.

Jim has been through a lot in the last year, and I am honestly not sure how he even keeps his sanity sometimes. He is a trustworthy honest gentleman who certainly will make things right.

I will never forget my first encounter with Jim Linder roughly 8-10 years ago when I drove my 1937 Ford 400 miles to a Early Ford Meet. I had literally just bought the car the week prior. I had ignition issues the minute I got there with no spare parts on hand. He was set up in the swap meet and was willing with open arms to help in any way he could (and he did)

WOW , you ordered a distributor on Jan 19th and i have received at least six emails wanting to know where your distributor is . I answered every one but i was in the hospital for about two weeks during that time. Your distributor is on the bench and i will get it done today.

Very sorry for any delay in your project, i guess this is a example of a skeeky wheel gets the grease !!!!

And it will be shipped with a bottle of hot sauce for your trouble !!!!

C’mon Jim. I told you I was under a time crunch. You said two weeks out. I just got it and you sent it without a cap clip on one side and with the wrong rotor. Thanks.

Sometimes lack of good planning on the customers part, does not justify trying to make the supplier jump thru hoops.

Inconceivable to me how a car part is more important than a serious illness.

Well, somebody was under a time crunch. Heart surgery should have just waited till the dam car part was finished.

Sitting under a time crunch can be life threatening to a Model A. Bubba should have pulled out those IV's, grabbed his catheter bag, put his cape on, leaped out of the hospital in a single bound, and by all means, shipped that crab!
