Red color for the F1
What paint color are people using for the Factory Red for the F1 Pickup engines? Either brush-on or rattle can.

Re: Red color for the F1
Kanter Auto Products has the "correct" orange/red paint. There are different opinions as to what color(s) were/are "correct" for the F-1's from '48 to '52. The photo is actually a '51 8RT that we installed in our '53 F-100 Panel Truck, it has the "correct" orange/red paint on it.

Re: Red color for the F1
I did a '51 F-3 several yeasrs ago that had the light blueish -green color on the bellhousing, very close to the color Detroit Diesel used on their engines. so that's what I used. The red from what research was available at the time indicated it was for some other Ford product, I believe the cars of those years and the Mercs had a different color. The red may match up with the color being used on tractors of the same year. Apparently the debate for the correct color goes on.

Re: Red color for the F1
Just rec'd engine paint for a '51 F-1 (bronze) from Bill Hirsch. Excellent quality going on. His paints have a great reputation, used in a number of points-correct cars.
