Hey Charlie .....Merry Christmas!

It has been SIX months to the day now since we last heard of your project to put a '36 rear end in your '32 pick-up. Seems like I've heard reference to that truck being back in service, BUT .....you never did follow-up and tell us which direction you took to finally accomplish this and make all the parts fit. Sure would be nice to hear the final story, and how you feel about the results in "Charlie-talk". A picture or two of that old truck wouldn't hurt, either! DD

I had the opportunity to conduct a little business with Charlie this past week. In the correspondence he sent me, he included several pictures of his truck. It's beauty!

The '36 rear is built and ready to install....spring time project. When I rebuilt the

orig rear and went from 4:11 to 3:78 I set it up tight .002 lash. It ran warm for a week then settled down....no issues. I concentrated on my customers thru summer and fall,
it goes in in spring.
Denny can you scan the photos and e mail to COOPMAN ?

I probably shouldn't have said anything. I am in Florida for the winter and don't have a scanner. I'll ask around and see if I can find someone who does.

If all else fails, I can mail the actual pictures to Mr. Coopman or someone else with a scanner who can do the hard work.

Charlie .....I didn't mean to cause a heap o' trouble. More than anything, I was just jerkin' on Denny's chain. As much as I'd love to see pictures, I can do without for now. If it helps ANY, if someone can e-mail something, that would do me fine, and I could post 'em HERE if Charlie approves. My e-mail address:

[email protected]

More than anything, I really was curious exactly what method/parts you followed to adapt that late rear into your truck, as there were several ways to approach it.

Hoping both of ya's have a nice Christmas. DD

Tubs, can you take a photo of the photo to get a digital image and then either post that or send it to Coops?

Good idea; I'll try that.

That worked better than I would have thought. (It still doesn't do the actual vehicle justice.)

Thanks, Mart!

Denny , thank you so much. The important photo is #2 showing how easy it is to run
an 8BA in a '32 with PLENTY of room for a fan. I have a shroud but did not need it
and the summer in Buffalo was hot. The rad is WIZARD radiator....their world class shop is spittin' distance from my lair. That's a pretty big flathead and that little 97 flows
enough to let me run with the big boys on the NY Thruway. The alt is a VanPelt new
not re man unit with a flathead pulley, same thread just had to do a bit of lathe work.
Merry Christmas

Charlie.....Your charming bride Alice sent me these pictures nearly two weeks ago to post, and I missed them until just now....SORRY about that. Surely is a nice old '32. Can you tell us a little more about that unique U-joint and shaft in the steering, as seen in 2nd picture? DD
