Default Does the weber down draft not fit under a stock 28-29 hood?

Looks like i missed the fact that the weber down draft carburetor setup that the suppliers are selling doesnt allow the passenger side lower hood section to close. At least it doesnt close on mine. Did i really miss that when researching this carb setup or is something wrong? Not looking for input on all the other carb options i “should have used” but looking for input from people that have used this carb on a 28-29 with a hood.

Good afternoon...You might wish to look at the intake manifold...it seems to me that with the right configuration...the Webber will fit...Ernie in Arizona

With the rectangular air cleaner mine would hit the side of my hood, i found a round one that fits the webber carb, problem solved
Can't remember where I found it
Maybe speedway motors

I had to use round air cleaners on my Carter-Weber’s too.

Mine fits on my 28 Tudor with square air cleaner. There IS a front and back when fitting air cleaner on carburetor.

here's a photo of the adapter for a standard 2-5/8" air cleaner. Google Weber as there are several sources. FYI, I have 2 A's with this set up and hood clearance has never been an issue

I installed a Webber on my 29 Special Coupe with no problems.

Does your motor sit a little high? Can you insert your crank?

The motor did sit a little high when i first got the car but have since replaced the front motor mount with the original style motor mount. The engine seems to sit ok now. I can insert the crank. The height of the carb is ok, its the side that hits.
