Default Cowl & Shell Lacing

About to replace the cowl & shell lacing on my '30 CCPU. Do you need to remove the hood to do this?

I've done a search and picked up a lot of great tips/tricks to do both. Any other would be greatly appreciated.

Well, in theory I don't guess you do completely however the screw that mounts the cowl lacing in the center of the firewall is directly beneath the center hood rod. You would at minimum need to move the hood enough to get to that.
