Door access panel screws
THis is a question for 48-52 truck owners. THe access panels are held to the door with 8 screws each. THe parts catalog lists them and the countersunk washers. When you go to the Ford standard & utility catalog, they show a flat hex head screw under the correct part number. It's obviously a mistake. Now, this wouldn't be thier first catalog mistake, as I found hundreds during my 30 years as a Parts man/ Manager. My question is, What style screw holds your panels on, Philips head or a slotted screw My doors I believe had phillips with the countersunk star washers. Another member has slotted screws. What do your doors have? I know it's a dumb question, but we'd like to get a answer. I am trying to find a earlier body catalog than Dec 1950 to see what is listed. The 1950 one lists #32924-S7 screw and 34952-S7 washer. If anyone has a earlier version of the 44-51 Car and truck body parts catalog, look under basic part number 21122 and see what's there.

Re: Door access panel screws
When we got our '51 F-1 it had been cosmetically restored and had what looked to be original Philips head sheet metal screws with no star washers. When we redid the truck, I used stainless Philips head screws with no washers.

Re: Door access panel screws
I think it was after WWII, maybe in early '45 for '46 production. My '39's have slotted screws, all the '46 -'48's I've had, had Philips head screws.
