Photos from 'The Gathering'
Had a great time. Many, many cars 7or800?? Not too many as built by Henry,
but all are interesting.I never saw Ol' Ron. Should have asked here who he was coming with. I will start with the original or near original. Wanted to talk to the owner of the roadster , but never saw him. It looked to be a very nice surviver.

The little blue-green one is a 20's Ford built Mine inspector's car. Originally ran on the rails in a coal mine. Willys engine.

Some of the flatheads. Don't know if they reached 100 but there were many.

More,
The leather interior is in a 34 fordor with the blower. The DeSoto is in the little Fiat 2dr back in just for fun.

Re: Photos from 'The Gathering'
Brian
Ron came down with George Perry who was set up in the vendor space with the $20,000. Freznel supercharger on his table. Had a chance to talk with Ron about combustion chambers, and piston to head clearance. Nice to see him. He seemed in good spirits. Best car in show in my book was Dick K's '34 Ford Door sedan, "BLUEX" with artillery wheels, Baron heads, and an SCOT blower. Sorry I didn't take any pictures, to busy looking and talking. |

Re: Photos from 'The Gathering'
Thanks Brian, nice picture coverage. The first picture in post #7 looks like Don's '37 from RI.

The cut-out hood sides on the blue '39 Standard Coupe is unusual.

Re: Photos from 'The Gathering'
Hi Plumber, very doable especially in your trade. Copper pipe, hardware fittings and a small pipe bender. Just go thru the binns for fittings without any dents or scratches. Then a little elbo grease. If I do it it has to be easy! What a great day, this was a record for the most cars. Does anyone know how many flatheads were thers? Also car count.
Regards, Don. |
