Default Two successful shakedown runs with new cabriolet

I'm please to report that I got two chances last week to drive my new 1936 Ford cabriolet on extended drives. The first was to take my lovely wife to dinner in the next town where the car was a big hit with the restaurant owner. The second involved meeting some car buddies for breakfast Friday morning and then driving down to see a cousin and show him the car and then returning home. The Friday trip approached 70 miles in total with much of the trip at 50-60 MPH. Car ran great and got many admiring looks. It is always good when your get to air out an Early Ford!

Great car . The back seat is right there in front of the spare tire . It's just closed in the pic

It's hard to beat a 36 Cab

Isn't it great to fire one up and take it for a spin. It don't get any better than that.

1932 V8, I know - but Al is famous for his '36 fordor converts....and '40-'41 pickups of course.

Grandadeo , I was just playing when it comes to the " back seat" and I know you were to . It's the perfect back seat for the " kids" , with the top up you can't hear a thing

Thanks, fellows, for all the kind words. As for the story, I had been thinking of buying another cabriolet and did buy a street rod project but I no more than got it home and found this up in NY. After a few chats with the owner, I was quite pleased that he let me take over custody of the car that HE built the engine... THE original 1936 Ford engine if I've got the story right. He really went the extra mile on the engine, including the 3/4 race cam and dual Holley 94s. That car scoots!
I'm very pleased with the car as it is quite solid and the sheet metal is straight. Immediate plans are to drive as is and enjoy. I only added a battery disconnect switch under the driver's seat thus far.
I also bought a 1932 Ford 3 window coupe about a year ago but haven't posted it on the Fordbarn because it is not exactly as Henry built it! It does have a new Brookville three window floor and is unchopped and unfilled and is all steel. It has quite a racing history down in GA before it spent 43 years in a chicken coop.

PS Anybody interested in a 1936 Ford cabriolet street rod project? It has new firewall and new steel floors throughout with chassis engineering suspension front and rear. Also an off brand small block with turbo 350.
