Default Domed Engine Heads

Is it possible to use domed heads on a flathead that has flat top pistons? If
so what problem(s) may be created in doing so?

I would say lower compression....

I just corrected this situation on a 1935 Ford that a friend bought. Lower compression as the other fellas have said.

Mine is the other way around.

Domed pistons with early flat top piston heads.

Am running 2 head gaskets ATM, until one day when it needs to be overhauled.

You can get more compression with flat top pistons and the proper heads.
Cheap go fast.

It is no secret. It is just a matter of Boyle's laws of physics.
When you compress a gas into a container (combustion chamber), the smaller the container, the higher the pressure for a given amount of input energy.

Two mating flat surfaces have less area than two mating curve surfaces for the same diameter.
