Default Tires ?

I tried desperately to post a photo, but something is very wrong and not working as it used to.

So here goes my question anyway.
I cannot decide what type of tire to use on my 40, my choice is Black wall, or white wall, or raised letters.)(white?)

I was looking for some kind of attraction on the wall, but i've had many people tell me BLACK wall.

I'm hoping for some input from the people on the Barn.

The majority rule!

P.S. A picture of my 40 should show on my Avitar.

A Deluxe coupe or a snazzy convertible? I'd go with whitewalls (I like 'em a little narrower than they came with, i.e. '55-'56 era, but that's just me). A Plain Jane Standard Tudor or a Fordor? I'd go with blackwalls. In no case should RWL be permissible!

Forgot to mention (old age 81) the tires will be going on 15" chrome wheels.

Thanks for the reply.

Hope to put this at rest, because its driving me crazy. I'm afraid once its done i will live with something i dont like, and i cant afford yo keep changing tires.

Again thanks everyone.

These are 15 in. tires.
However, the car is "raked" with big and littles.
Be sure to peruse these sites for ideas of what you might like.

i think with your color car, whitewalls would look nice....if you could post a pic, or get someone to post a pic for you, maybe someone could photoshop the car with both kinds of tires and you could see what you think....Mike

So being 81 what was in style when you were younger? I'd go with that.

Don't remember, i said i was 81 so goes the memory.

Back then the car was in the garage ,and i would do some work on it now and then.

It was somewhat negleted, because i was involved with my father-in-law and brother-in-law in helping with stock car racing.

Well, I'm 82 and white walls were very scarce back in the day. Plain sedans almost never had whitewalls; they would look goofy. Whitewalls came into their own in the 50's.

Still, it's your car, so do what you like.

Hi all; Do some tire sellers have a program to let you 'try tires' on your photo?/ Newc
