Default Model A vs 32-34 B style Head Gaskets?

Snyders 5.5:1 head says must use 32-34 B style head gasket. What is the difference between a B style head gasket and a Model A style?

We have a Victor 7013 copper gasket, and would like to use if OK.

Neal,

The 7014 (Model B) has the extra steam holes and has a slightly different combustion chamber shape...provides more room around the valves than the 7013 (Model A) gasket.

Will see if I can dig up a pic.

Edited to add: The B gasket may also be smaller around the flycuts - could be an issue if you have much in the way of an overbore.

I install probably 30 or more 5.5 heads each year and always use Snyder's Model A copper gasket. The gasket is made by Best Gaskets and is designed for a .125 overbore. Never had a failure.

Up. If you get any wear from the movement of the gasket, you want it on the head surface. The head can be resurfaced much easier than the block.

I second these remarks, as BEST copper, is the best, IMO and experience. I just went out to .125 on a B that is short block now, and that .125 gasket still has a good fit.

I've been wondering if different guys have different/good method to keep gasket IN PLACE and from wondering till head is on I think that gasket moving while installing head, is cause for some of burned/blown head gasket problems..no ? How do you make sure it does NOT move..anyone.
