Re: Electric fuel pump problems
This should work for you but you can switch relay wire if you want pump to run with ign switch off.
Now the switch will turn on and off with ign on only. Switch the 2 with line from battery. |

Re: Electric fuel pump problems
I would use an oil pressure switch and an inertia switch myself. They both cut the power to the fuel pump in a crash. The inertia switch attached is a Fox body Mustang, but any modern car would have one.

Re: Electric fuel pump problems
An oil pressure switch for a fuel pump. If anyone is interested in wiring one in let me know.

Re: Electric fuel pump problems
Thank you all. When you are out of ideas you guys are the best! Today I ran a number 12 wire from the battery side of the starter solenoid to a relay then to a fuse then to the pump. To power the coil on the relay, I ran a number 14 wire from the ignition switch to the relay coil and then grounded it. The ignition switch is turned on, the points on the relay close ,the pump runs with plenty of power to run the ignition. Runs great! I don't know which made it work, the heavier gage wire or the relay, but it works. Thanks again. JB
