Default Looking for a car cover for a 29 roadster

I am looking for a car cover for my 1929 roadster it has the spare in the rear. Primarily this will be used to cover the roadster while in the garage over the winter to keep the dust off. Also generally if we are traveling and spending several nights on the road I will cover the car while in a hotel parking lot. I do not need a heavy bulky cover as I would be putting it in a bag to carry with us and space is tight. I want something that is soft on the inside that will not scratch the paint. I have gone to several web sites and most I can enter the year, make, model, but after that for body style they just have "base" which to me indicates one size fits all. Further most have covers that seem to range from 3 to 7 layers thick, I was thinking possibly 4-5 layers but am concerned about how bulky it would be. Any suggestions/recommendations! Where did you get your cover? Is it bulky? Can it be rolled up and placed in a bag that would be about 12" in diameter and 2 feet long?

Thanks for any information

Good morning, frank. I got my cover from Covercraft. www.covercraft.com. They have many to chose from for indoors, outdoors or both.

I got a cover for my '30 Town Sedan 'made to fit' over the trunk and spare tire on the back. They even sent me some mirror pocket (free on request) that I had sown on at a local upholsterer.

I got the Sunbrella material because my car spends it's idle time outside in an inclosed tent. Not cheap but does an outstanding job and their warranty is great.

May be overkill for your needs but they do have other "models". I'll have to go out and measure my bag.

Note: Added picture to show added mirror pockets and 'nose' to cover my Moto-meter. Also note wheel covers.

We got one in the early 80's for the '28 Roadster w/ rear spare and still using it; it fits well. They cut the pattern real nice to fit exactly over the top.

Came from Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories I don't know if they are still around but it is a nice cover.

I also have a Covercraft cover. I bought it with the Noah fabric because my coupe is in the garage most of the time. It is well made and should last a long time (I have had mine for several years). The nice thing about the Covercraft is it is customized for the year and body style you have and whether you have rear spare mount or side mounts, etc.

That 4 to 9 layers is just a bunch of crap advertising lies. I bought some 5 layer and some 9 layer, and they look the same. They will work fine for what you want, and they cost about $50. The seam tape is another joke, as it will blow off in the wind within a month, and the rain will leak through the seams and mess up your paint unless you catch it right away. My cover was on my 1999 Olds for 4 days, and the paint is permanently messed up from the water that leaked through the seams.

As a dust cover or overnight dew or snow cover, it will be fine, and it folds up to the size you want.

California Car Cover has the best selection. I bought the top of the line for my '30 Tudor and I love it.

Thanks to all that commented.

BHMA is still in business I finally found them. I too have 2 of their blue covers that I purchased in the 80s and that is the type of cover I was looking for. There is another Beverly Hill car cover company that I had them confused with.

Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories for comparison. Have had both Calif. Car Cover and BHMA and liked both the Bev. Hills one outlasted the Calif. Car Cover at least for me, both used in a garage.

Many car covers are tossed, after a short time. They're a PAIN!!!

California car cover made a cover for my roadster AV8. They even ask my tire size for fitting it. Good company to deal with and good product.
