International Model A Day why sept 22nd
One for the experts , Why do we celebrate international Model A Day on the 22nd September ??? when 1st one rolled off the line in October 20th & 1st ones not sold to December the 2nd 3 Mainland New Zealand clubs meeting in Hanmer this year, Hope to have pictures on return . This annual event has really taken off down under since the Greymouth boys started it 3 years ago,

Re: International Model A Day why sept 22nd
EASY
International Model A Day was FIRST held in June at Henry Ford's Birthday, but to DOWN UNDER and Southern US (Texas and Florida requests) CONCERNS, September was chosen so it would not be Snow Driven or impossibly warm. It now conforms to New England Meet dates in September when about 300 Model As are on tour. This year's New England Meet is near Camden Maine and the tour will be along the Maine's Atlantic coast. Hoping everyone will be out in their Model A Sept 22, with Sept 23 for a local rain date. |

Alaskan A's have moved their "celebration" to 9/29 due to local weather and high winds (up to 100mph) predicted for the 300 mile route we plan to take driving from Anchorage to Seward and return.
