Default Follow up on scam

This was in answer to a want ad I had posted in march wanting some seats. I wonder if someone is going thru our want ads on the barn and responding with deals to good to be true?

Minor request. It would help if you kept everything on one thread.

If that were indeed the case, the scammer would have to be a barn member. I'm sure Ryan could ban him if it is (and that is a scam).

Look at "community" in the black bar, look at how many one time posters there are. One good score, make a new identity! Next victim.

Title says "Follow up on scam" but I see no follow up. HUH? Is there a followup or not? Curious minds want to know.

If Ryan were able to see the IP address of members, he could shut down a spammer so he couldn't register under another name (unless he used another computer) by blacklisting his IP. I have no idea whether he has access to that info but it would certainly make life difficult for a spammer.
That said, the ultimate responsibility for our security is with each of us. Can't be too cautious!

IP blocking wont do anything as many service providers cycle thru them every so often so yours/scammers probably wont stay the same. Not to mention there are tons of ways to have a program send out a fake IP address. Really need to block the MAC address thats hard tied to the PC BUT usually the scammer has multiple PC's running so it really doesnt matter.
