Default Cars on TV

I was viewing the mostly well done show on the History Channel entitled something like The Cars That Made America. The episode about how Henry Ford came to be the most influential auto maker was interesting. The interplay between Henry and Edsel late in the production run of the Model T made you understand how tied to the T Henry had become.
The disappointing scene for me was when they had the 1927 press conference to unveil the New Ford. Henry starts talking and they pull back to show the New Ford which happened to be a slant windshield Sedan from late 1931 (one of the last cars to be produced). I was disappointed to see such a well produced program at least not show an appropriate car for the scene. We know there are well preserved ARs out there.

I noticed that also. I think they just wanted to show the Model A shape rather than the year. It was a good program though....

How about the Dodge Brothers in their office in 1914 working on a Quadrajet carb that fits a mid '60's GM car? Or Delorean street racing a four door Oldsmobile calling it a '64 GTO? Or the mid '50's Mercury they called a '55 Chevy? Lots of dumb stuff.

HaHa saw that also! It was interesting to watch, but the inaccuracies to us car guys really stood out.

Haha, Probably a good thing I missed it! As a somewhat anal-retentive person that would have drove me up the wall!!

I obviously haven't seen the show but it sounds typical of the cr@p today's media churn out.
Dare I say it? "Fake news!"

The sad part is Dale Jr. was a producer of the show, which means it was his money being spent. He certainly SHOULD have known better.
