Default 32 fordor metal trim around the dash

Another question:
The upholstery guys tell me I am missing this steel rim piece around the Front belt rail finish panel (dash). Can anyone tell me where I can get one? This is for a 1932 Fordor.
And the guys are moving really fast & getting this done!!!
thanks
Joanne

In the gauge tunnel oval on the dash there should be a small lip. That stainless you have in your hand has a slot and it slips over that lip.The seam goes to the top.A little tricky to install.

This guy showed me what I need cause I didn't have a clue. He won't sell it to me. I need to FIND one!
Do you know where I can find one?
Original would be better than a refabrication one.
thanks

Cross your finger and get on the phone. Try Baxter's Ford Parts, (785) 842-9256 and the Early Ford Store, (909) 305-1955 as well as anyone else you can think of calling. At this point I assume want ads and swap meets would take too long.

Joanne,

Saw this on EBAY: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1932-Ford-Cl...b5b482&vxp=mtr

I know nothing about except what I see it but it says that they are (or were) making them.

When installing them work them on with the last step being at the break.

Joanne,

Once again, don't be stampeded by your upholsterer. The front belt rail finish panel (dash) on a sedan is independent of the upholstery work and can be installed after that work is completed at your convenience.

Dave,
How did you know?
Do you read minds?
Yes I am getting quite over whelmed by all of this!
Each day I get calls for more parts from the upholster & what he needs & frankly I am getting rattled!!!! Because each time I have to pull your books out & try to figure out what it is, cause I thought I had everything!!! Then I have to figure out where to buy the parts.
Now I need 4 lower rubber seals & carpet fill plates. I thought I already bought & installed the rubber seals & I haven't a clue what the carpet fill plates are.
My saving grace is this site & your books!!!!
Ok enough venting.
Thanks for all of your help!!!

Joanne,

An original sill plate is shown in the photo below. It is the silver colored strip at the very outer edge of the door opening. Most of the originals were made of zinc, but aluminum was also specified as an alternative on the original engineering drawing. Brookville, likely amonst others, offers reproductions in both aluminum and stainless steel.
