I am getting ready to purchase Coker 600x16 radials for my '36 Ford, I will be using tubes from Coker in the tires because I don't think the stock Ford wide five wheels will work well with tubeless tires.
A lot of people think that radial tires on a stock 36 wheel is not a good idea, I disagree. The one problem that most people overlook with radial tires is that they are high pressure tires.. Probably in the 32/34 psi range, anything under 32 psi will cause poor handling..
I have P215/65R15 tires on 15 x 7 wheels on my '39 Conv. The car drives and handles perfectly.

I'm running radials on my '39 p/u with wide 5's without tubes. The rear never loose air but the fronts loose a couple of pounds every 2 weeks or so. I don't know if its due to the flexing pressures on the front tires as a result of turning movements or there is leakage through the bead and/or rivets. It seems strange that only the front rims would leak and not the rears but it is possible. Until I investigate the situation more closely I just check the pressure of the fronts regularly.

Thanks for your input,I want to run the 550 - 16 on the front of my AV8.I seen in an earlier post where some one sealed the rims with a small amount of JB weld on all of the rivets.I will check with Diamondback and see if they have any recommendations .

I've used the JB Weld on rivets....cheap insurance! Run your radials WITHOUT tubes. With clean, smooth beads, works just fine! DD
