65 GTO 389 4 sp in ‘75, usual slots with Remington L70/L60 air shocks, headers glass packs. Had nowhere to keep it so…. Well “I can always pick up another for a grand or so when I get back on my feet” who woulda thought more like 40 grand.

I think I still have most of the cars (and trucks) of my past. Nothing too collectible or outstanding. Mostly just sentimental value or family history. I did sell the 72 IH Scout II. There are of course a few regrets and missed opportunities I probably should have bought when I had the chance.

First was circa 1982 and my first car was this $200 Mustang Mach I (to the observant eye not too hard to tell where my house was and what kind of family we were, especially note Dad's 67 GT 390, 4 speed Mustang a la "Bullitt" daily driver), second was circa 1984 and my 71 Torino GT Convertible for $1500. Third was my 70 VW for $700 that needed an engine overhaul once I did that a friend had to have it so I ended up selling it to him and buying the white 65 VW in the background & the fourth picture the white 63 Rag Top off my brother when he upgraded to the blue 63 Rag Top in the forth picture.

My first licensed "wheels". The 39 Deluxe. Fresh out of my paint shop :0) in the summer of 71. I could do a re shoot of that same photo if I get around to a new ignition coil and fix the brakes. One of these days.

1950 Ford Custom Deluxe Coupe-much nicer than my 50 coupe now but it was only 17 years old then and a 1971 Dodge Charger 383 Magnum.

High school? '51 Ford 4 door. After college graduation and a new job? 1967 Corvette coupe with a 327/350 4 speed. Now? A '51 Ford coupe and a 1967 Corvette coupe with a 327/350 4 speed (no, not the same car). If nothing else, I am consistent

My first car was a 1932 Dodge coupe in 1949, paid $10.00 for it. My favorite of all time is a 1934 Buick Coupe that I hot rodded. 500 C.I 500 H.P. 700R4 trans., 3.00 Ford 8" rear.
and many others, e.g., 35, 36, 37, 39, 40, 46, 47, 49, 49, 50, etc. Fords, and a few chebby's.

No pictures, but high school through when I got drafted in '70 was a '55 Mercury Montclair with 292 and 4 speed T-10. Had an Isky RPM300 cam and Jahns domed pistons, and a Mallory dual point too. Next old Ford was a '52 Customline two dr. in '83 that I put a 350/300 HP Chevy in with a Muncie 4 speed. Next in 2000 was a '55 Ranch Wagon that I never finished and sold to Steve Fritz on this forum about two years ago (He finished it very nice). Now, looking for a '50 Coupe.

The 327/350 HP L79 was a sweet engine. Best production cam they ever made.
