Original style stone guard

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the proper spring clips to fasten my newly acquired original style stone guard to the Rad.??? The clips offered by "A" parts suppliers don't work on these guards. I like the antique look of this guard better then the repo's you can buy today! Thanks!

I'm with Bob. There was no original stone guard. The stone guard was an unauthorized accessory. I do run a few unauthorized accessories myself. Ain't model A's fun.

That is correct Bob-A, this is a stone guard produced in that era by Otwell and others for the Model "A" and I like the look better then the repos they sell today!

Thanks for the pic. It is one nice looking guard too, you lucky dog! I'd love to find an original like that for my '29 roadster. I collect original
"A" era accessories, unauthorized or not, when ever I can. Just recently
I picked up an era correct running board spot light for my '31 roadster:
yeow'za, huba-huba an 23 skidoo..................

WOW! I Love it. I have one of the "era" produced radiator stone guards ( found at Hershey in the early 80's) but it looks similar to the repops of today. I WANT ONE LIKE YOURS!!!!

It looks nice, but it covers the radiator emblem :-( I like the ones now that have the oval hole so you can see the emblem.

Hey Bogdonj,

I haven't logged on for awhile and I just responded to your PM.

Here is a photo of one of the "Stone Guards" offered during the era (now hanging in the Garage Ma'hal as wall art). Obviously, not the same as what is offered today.

The spring clips that go through the Rad are nice as you don't see any mounting brackets and they hold it steady. I am not aware of anyplace to obtain these, but I will try to upload some images of them later so you can see what they look like.
