Thanks! For extra insurance agaist leaking I used 80062 Permatex on the body, then made a bowl gasket from natural cork. From my research, that seems to be the ticket.

I usta pick them up for a local friend when i could find them.He was running them on a 50 Chebby w/6 banger but he awitched to webbers,so that ended that. I just re sold them to him for a few bucks more than what i paid for them as is. I dont mess with them. You and Charlie can have them all to yourselves. LOL happy NY guys. ken ct. This is my favorite carburetor. No, it's not 50 Merc, No it's not F-7 F-8 or, big Lincoln flathead, it's all cast steel except the top plate is diecast. I think it is some sort of Military application, notice the three bolt base. I think it's kinda rare. I bought it in Argentina.

1952 Henry I have one of those out in the shop, but some ID10T ruined it. I am guessing it must have had a sticky float and they got carried away with tapping on it. They managed to break the carb body next to the float cover and bashed in the float itself, cover is missing. If you need one like that for parts let me know. I also think I may have one in the parts shed, but would have to double check. Curious what did these originally come off of? Rod

I used to run a pair of those glass bowl carbs on a 52 ford with a 215 6 cyl. on a fenton manifold, split header, aftermarket cam, (can't remember the make) 3 on the tree w/od and a 4:11 rear gear. smoked most all the chev. 6's and a few small V8's. this was back in 68/69. I sure liked that car, wish it was one I had kept.--Jim

It's a 1904 Holley. They came on six cylinder Fords starting in 1952. I believe they went up to the 60s on the Falcons. I know they had glass bowls in 52. Not sure what other years. IHC used this carburetor (different list number) in the 50s as well, also on Scouts in the 60s. I had a glass bowl 1904 (Visi Flow in Holley speak) on a 1956 4wd 3/4 ton when I was a kid.

Thanks for the info. My 62 223 that was in my shortbox F-100 Unibody had a slightly larger carb. It never gave me any trouble. Wosrt part of it (looking back with more experienced eyes) was the fact the choke had a way of putting itself on shightly. It seemed like every once in awhile it would seem to loose power slightly, but all I had to do was push the choke knob back in and all was well. I am only guessing at this point as the truck has been gone for 16 years, but I should have figured out what spring was worn out and replaced it. Rod
