Wanted-Good 55-56 Ford Station Wagon/Courrier Gas Tank
Anypody know of a source for a new 55/56 Wagon Style Gas Tank. They are different from Sedans. I'd also consider a clean dry used tank. anything is better than the one I'm working with-Thanks

Call or google AUTO CITY CLASSICS in ISANTI Minnesota. They have the correct gas tank for the wagon. I bought mine from them last fall. Very nice tank.

Re: Wanted-Good 55-56 Ford Station Wagon/Courrier Gas Tank
I got a new reproduced '55 Ford wagon gas tank for my '55 Courier sedan delivery several years ago. I think it came from a company called SPECTRE. 100% perfect duplication of original in every way.

I've seen them on EBAY before, but don't buy one that has a real low price.

Re: Wanted-Good 55-56 Ford Station Wagon/Courrier Gas Tank
I, too am looking for a gas tank. Maybe it's something in the air... I need this for a 54 Crestline. Auto City Classic's on-line catalog doesn't have it and neither does Spectra (could not find spectre). The problem I see with places like Carpenter is you need a new sender, since the original one will not work with the new tank...

Re: Wanted-Good 55-56 Ford Station Wagon/Courrier Gas Tank
Obsolete & Classic Auto parts shows one for '52 thru '54 Ford, OEM part # BA-9002. Their part # P09-15010-176.
That was in their 2017 catalog, so you might want to call 'em first at 1-800-654-3247. The 2017 price was $349.95. Hate to see what they want for it now. Company is located in Oklahoma City. |

Re: Wanted-Good 55-56 Ford Station Wagon/Courrier Gas Tank
I've bought from them many times and have always been satisfied. The only issue I have with that tank is that the original sender cannot be used. Not sure why, but maybe this is a universal tank with a different hole pattern. I'll call them in the morning...

Re: Wanted-Good 55-56 Ford Station Wagon/Courrier Gas Tank
When I addressed my '54 Ranch Wagon tank issues 15 years ago, there were no replacement wagon tanks available, so I had some local numbskulls called Top End Engineering in Nebraska remove and coat the tank at a great expense. I've recently seen new replacement tanks available at half the cost (now) of what I paid them back then.
Glad you found a unit. Be thankful that they're making these tanks. Best wishes. |
