Default 1940 Convertible top cylinder brackets.

Good day, Would anyone be able to help me with some information regarding the vacuum power top cylinder brackets. I am in the process of re installing the assembly but the brackets that hold the vacuum cylinders are missing, probably from a previous restoration. My fabricator says he will make a pair but is looking for dimensions of the bracket. Looks like the part no is 01A 6650680 or 01A 6650650 as it's hard to make out on the instructions online. Any help would be much appreciated. Martin.

If You make the brackets that bolt to the floor, make them so you can shim where the cylinder is from side to side as where it comes up to the top framing needs to be straight. and make slotted holes where they bolt down. I would hang the cylinders from the top framing in the up position, to see where they attach to the floor.
I sold my 40 convertible, but I think there were spare parts like what you need that went with it. I will check with the current owner.

Heard back, no lower brackets. Good luck, simple bracket you can make.

You can check with the Benson Ford Research Center to see if they have a copy of the original drawing. If so, they will send you a digital copy of the drawing for a fee, was $30/drawing the last time I did it.

Good luck with your restoration.
