It is usually the urine that is the problem.

.....and urine smell? NEVER! I made the mistake of power washing the interior of a 50 Studebaker after I removed the seats. Woke up the smell I could never get rid of. Used the best product from the pet store, coffee grounds setting for days, bags of charcoal...household cleaners....NOTHING WORKED. Sold the car.

I am concerned about the stain on an exterior fabric, like a tonneau cover.

Russcc: May I advise that you proceed slowly; contact the manufacturer of your tonneau cover for advice on cleaning techniques for these kinds of stains. I had raccoons get into one of my garages (stupid me left the door open one night), and they relieved themselves on my WWII Jeep military trailer tonneau cover. When I used Purple Power, it actually magnified the stains and consequently ruined it. I contacted the manufacturer (after the fact, obviously), and they had specific cleaning instructions. Had I contacted them FIRST, i would have saved significant time, effort and money.
