Default Re: I May Have Found a New Rodent Control

Left Germany on a military weekend tour bus in 1980 for a short visit to Paris.

We were warned about bland, fast food cafeterias at each bus stop and advised to walk down the street to a simple local, European sandwich shop.

About (6) of us stopped at this simple, outdoor sandwich shop where I asked the owner to place a piece of warm sausage in a warmed 12" baguette and cut it into six (6) pieces & asked the other (5) to try it.

All (5) others loved it, asked what it was, and each ordered a 12" long sandwich and ate it all.

After they finished eating, just had to tell them it was Boudin Noir.

It is still a vintage delicacy in England, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Quebec, and many countries in Western Europe; and in just a few parts of our States where past European traditions were never discarded.

It was said some time ago in a local cooking class that the husband of the most famous Modern American Chef, (Betty Crocker), tried desperately to skip what she fixed, and tried to to eat out every night. LOL
