Default 1936 Spare Tire Stainless Ring Mounting Clip

Hi Barners,

I am searching for the elusive small metal clips that hold the stainless ring to the metal tire cover. Bob Drake does not have them. Don Rogers recommended Auveco 2192 but that item is discontinued.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Bruce/CT

Did you see this old post? Maybe try a Chevy parts supplier.

Bruce/CT...Hanging out in one of the buildings I have a couple of the stainless rings that went with the 36 type metal tire cover. They both still have metal clips on them, but I do not remember how many make a complete set. You are welcome to them if you want them. If interested, send me a pm or email me at [email protected]

Does Bob Drake still sell the trim rings?
I was hoping to get a new one for my 35.

Most suppliers seem to no longer have the Stainless steel trim rings available. Joe's Antique Auto still shows them available in the catalog currently on their website. $95 ea

Hi,
Bob Drake no longer has them. They recommended 5 places to call. None of them have them. Joe's Antique doesn't either. I'm sending one of my rusty originals to Restoration Supply in Pa for them to attempt to match.
I'll get them to the P.O. after I get plowed out. Still snowing and we might get 12 inches here.
Thanks for the help.

You just missed these on eBay - unfortunately it sounds like he's been selling them for awhile and just sold the last of them:

Bruce, You need 9 of the fasteners if I read my drawing correctly. I may still have some Auveco 2192 fasteners left. Email me at [email protected]. Make sure that you have an original stainless band as the repops are too narrow for the fasteners.

Yep I bought the last set of auveco clips mike had on eBay I haven’t been home to test them for size yet. I had a few originals too that I had to make narrower so as to fit a repop stainless trim as what Don says above they are narrower than originl trim.
