Default brake backing plate ?

the first thing the Barn teaches a newbe is that Les is more! today's question
is: what's the secret to tapping on the brake adjusting wedge cap?

I've used a socket of the appropriated diameter to drive in the cap. Then give it a little dent in the center with ball peen hammer to spread it out and keep it in the slot.
