Default B4 motor to 39 type v8 transmission

We have a 1932 B4 we wish to fit a 39 v8 transmission to. Is there a simple way to bolt this up without swapping the later gears into the early transmission. We have a nice useable 39 trans and it seems a shame to dissasemble it.
Not sure what the procedure is for swapping gear between cases.
Any help appreciated.

I have a 41 Ford Pickup trans. one year only that has a factory cut out for the Four cylinder starter and the factory cutout for the six or eight cylinder. The gear output shaft in the #78 case are not spiral and would be noisy. If I were you I would call Mac Van Pelt. JMO.

Its way easier to swap gears than to buy all the stuff to put the 1939 trans behind the
B motor

You can not swap V8 (helical) gears into a Model A case.
You have a usable 39 trans you wish to use with a B engine there are several options but probably the most common is to:

1. cut the back of a B pan off.
2. Install an A clutch housing on your B engine
3. Purchase and install a Model A to B trans adapter
4. Purchase and install a Pedal adapter on your 39 trans
5. Purchase and install an emergency brake adapter on your 39 trans
6. Purchase and install a front wishbone adapter to your 39 trans

From that point on it is pretty much the same as installing an A transmission
Several people make complete adapter kits. Dennis Cling is a popular one

I think he said he had a B transmission. If thats the case you can swap the gears.

It's easy to swap '39 gears into a B case, if going into a Model A you will need motor mounts, pedal mount, and radius-rod mounts.

Thanks Jim. Its going in a 32 pick up. I am a little confused by some information , perhaps some posters thought the B4 was going in an A frame.

I will add the following comments: If you are using a 16 tooth main drive gear and a 28 tooth cluster gear, I would agree that it would be somewhat easy to install 39 gears in a 32 case. If you are using a 15 tooth main drive gear and a 29 tooth cluster gear I would say it is not easy. It is not impossible because I have done it. In the latter case one needs to slide the front thrust washer in after the main shaft and main drive gear are assembled. Also, when disassembling this setup, the trick is to turn the case upside down and jiggle it a bunch to allow the front thrust washer to slide sideways enough that you can catch it with a dental probe or long thin screwdriver. It also helps to have the back of the gearbox down and the front up so the cluster gear slides to the rear giving as much space as possible for the washer to escape. The countershaft was removed in the above situation. I just performed this last night. There is no need to grind off teeth from the synchronizer on the main drive gear.

I forgot to add that the 15/29 setup is a truck transmission.

That was my thought when I read the question in the "A Forum".
