Default Two Electrical Questions

Actually one electrical question

Has anybody noticed that modern 12volt LED tests lights don't work so well when used on 6 volt systems? I tried a couple on my 6 volt cars and about half the time they don't light up at all and when I switch to an older incandescent test light they light up like they should.

12 volt led on a 6 volt system may work poorly ! they were made for 12 volt with the lower voltage you would only get half the brightness or not work at all ,also if they did work the would probably burn out quicker. my suggestion is buy the proper 6 volt led lamp
and they should work great best of luck to you joe.

Most LED bulbs are polarity sensitive. Use a voltmeter, much more valuable info in a voltage reading than just a "it lights".

I also advocate multi meters. you can use the continuity setting to check grounds. also check connections and ohm out some parts. you can also runs some tests on batteries by how much voltage they have or how it drops as days go by.
