Default Locking pin

The nut on the locking pin seems to need tightening mid season. Season is about 1000 miles for me. I always check it before I take it out on the road each spring and get a bit on it. Is this your experience ? Thanks, Bill

Your asking about the spindle bolt locking pin? Do you have lock washers installed under the nut?

If that cotter pin keeps coming loose, it is probably because the king pin is loose in the eye. Driving will cause pin to work back and forth, stretching the eye. IMO, the only fix is it to:
  • Replace the axle with a good one
  • Have the eye resized
  • There was a recent thread here where someone said they sleeve the eye. You might look into that.
