1950 Ford oil sender from Block To Oil Gauge
Hello to Ford Barn Men. I have a friend who has a 1950 Ford flat head V/8, his oil gauge does not work on dash of car. The car runs fine, does not make any bad noise, where is the oil sender wire from engine block to gauge on dash in car.? All help appreciated.
Thanks Randall |

Re: 1950 Ford oil sender from Block To Oil Gauge
You should be able to pick out the oil gauge by looking at the back of the cluster/speedometer on a '50. It has only two connections. I think the hot one is connected via or directly by a brass jumper bar connecting two gages...if I'm wrong just check by test light. The other wire is effectively the ground running through the sender. You could disconnect this and try a jumper out the window and thence to sender, or try touching jumper to ground and then removing ground to see if gauge moves.
