Is this for your '56 Crown Vic.?

A two letter paint code means two colors of paint. I think the '3' could/would mean it was something more than a standard top/bottom two-tone paint job, more like; top, middle, bottom. See this photo link...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1955_F...d_'11).JPG

Scroll down to the top of page 6 on this linked pdf document to the "1956 Body Color Code" column,
it shows the color "Y" = Sunset Coral, and "E" = Colonial White

55 crown vic red exterior red and white interior

My '55 is (mostly) converted to 12v but it's still a '55.
At the beginning of last summer I wanted to drive it more than I wanted to take the dash apart to put in new Temp & Fuel gauges and get the speedo fixed, so that's still on the To-Do list.
There are several significant differences between '55 and '56, calling it the incorrect year may not always be a good idea.

Scroll back up in that Data Plate document to page 5 to the "1955 Body Color Code" column,
it shows the color "Y" was Mountain Green and "E" was Snowshoe White.

I'll again suggest getting in touch with the Crown Victoria Assn. to avoid my possibly misleading you.

talking about your T bird dash
my fuel gauge works but stays full till about 1/4 tank
temp gauge is stuck or was never converted to 12V
speedo makes noise and bounces for the first mile

The original '55 Fuel & Temp gauge pairs aren't overly voltage or polarity sensitive due to them being made with self-regulating bi-metal strips inside (diagram below) but may occasionally need help to work better.
The info at this 12v conversion link was written for '55 T-Birds but it does apply to (all) '55 Fords in general...
https://www.ctci.org/battery-for-6v-to-12v-conversion/

Is it stuck on Cold, or ? . Your Temp gauge circuit may have an 'open' connection somewhere.

The speedo cable & housing may just need to be cleaned out and re-lubricated. The old grease gets dried out and worthless after all these years.
Or, the speedo head may need cleaning. It works with spinning magnets and can be sensitive.

Thanks, I need to do more work on my cars too. A driver '55 Bird that isn't quite done and a tired '57 that was complete and driveable but is now a resto-project in progress. My wife picked it out last summer because she loves the color. It was her unfulfilled wish from eight+ years ago when I couldn't find an original yellow one and bought the red one instead.

dmsfrr??? That's for an old project I work on less than the two cars. A steam era HO model railroad,
the Durango, Madrid & Santa Fe RR. It's all packed away in boxes.
