Default Rough Idle

What can cause a rough idle in an engine with 2 different carbs. ,one professionally rebuilt recently. I tried both different carbs same result .cannot get it to idle smooth by adjusting ldle screws. This is a 39 Ford 59 b. THANK YOU. SUNSHINE.

Vacuum leak? First pinch off the vacuum line to the wipers to see if that helps. If not spray starting fluid (ether) around manifold gasket, carb bases, both sides throttle shafts, distributor vacuum fittings, etc. to see if the idle momentarily picks up.
