Wasn't there also a stainless T? Maybe I'm dreaming but I seem to recall seeing a pic many years ago of one with a 36 and a 'bird. In fact, I think it was a circa-1925 truck.

The polish on that 36 may not be original but it sure is purdy - "very sparkly, definitely very sparkly!"

The Stainless Steel 1936 Ford on display at the Early Ford V8 Grand Nationals held in Dearborn in 1973. Also on display was the 1960 Ford Thunderbird and barely visible 1967 Lincoln Continental Convertible.

Think what a SS car would weigh. Yikes. Talk about crappy gas mileage.

The article linked in the OP said they weigh about the same as a plain steel car.

The polished stainless steel 1936 Ford will be permanently on display, on a rotating platform, in the new Rotunda Gallery at the Early Ford V-8 Museum in Auburn, Indiana. The stainless steel tudor is part of the Floyd Collection of eighteen, 1936 Fords that were given to the Foundation Museum by Joe Floyd. The Floyd collection will be housed in the newly expanded Museum. Construction is underway with a completion date of late 2018 being looked at. Come for a visit. There is lots to see. If you love flathead Fords, get involved. "fordv8foundation.org".

I remember first reading about these stainless steel Fords in a 1967 Rod and Custom magazine complete with photos. Yes, I still have it.

I stored the '36 in my garage during this meet. The brakes were bad, other wise good condition. My neighbor worked for Allegheny Ludlum and arranged for the use of the "36. I don't recall how the others were obtained.

That one was in "as found" condition. It got a lot of attention right there on the trailer, and I believe found a new owner that day, subsequently beautifully restored.

Over-restored as this is the car that Leo Gephart ended up having 'polished' that Joe Floyd subsequently purchased.
