I got slightly UPSET on my 70th but found comfort in knowing I will always be 5 years younger than my '36+

I'm looking at the age poll listed above and the graphic brings it closer to home. In one year, I'll be in the next to last bar on the graph - the final bar has only 1 person in it! How did I get here so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was wrenching on my 53 Merc conv in Mom's backyard.

I sure got a lot to finish in a short period of time! I'm sure many of you feel the same way but it sure beats laying around waiting to die! In fact, I've noticed many post listing illnesses and most V8'ers come back better than ever. Keeping active may be one of life's little secrets and how could it get any better than fellowship with others of like mind and enjying the the toys we've been blessed with?

Just one more comment - I feel the Lord has blessed me with so many friends on here and other forums that have made my life much richer and enjoyable. Thanks guys.

I will be 74 in June, it looks like I am average age for the V-8 Times. Will there be a tally of our average age or a tally of the average age of our oldest ride? PS I still like cleavage at my age?

I'm 54 and enjoy my mini collection of restored and unrestored Fords of the thirties. I've pondered this "average age" question for many years, recognizing today's "kids" no longer seem to be drawn to an original 1934 or 1937 Ford. While none of us are in this wonderful hobby for the money, it does cross my mind that I might be fortunate to live another twenty-five or thirty or more years and that brings up two possibilities...no market interest at that point of what I've got in terms of "old, slow Fords" or assuming my wife and kids outlive me....what burden will a dozen old piles of rolling steel be to them...?

I'm only 61. Ron brings up an interesting point. We may very well be the last of the "old Ford" breed. I think about this alot when I see late model cars beginning to outnumber the pre 48's in many of the magazines I read. I hope to keep my 40 as long as I'm walking ontop of the dirt. I'd like to keep it for my son who was age 14 when I got it. He helped with the build as he could and appreciates the tradtional flathead powered hot rod. When the Good Lord does call,(I hope not anytime soon) I want to be cremated and have my ashes put in the ash tray in the 40. I figure I can still go cruising around with my kid. Glad to see some young members in the group. As well I'm glad to have joined this forum. Good health and long life to all of us. Dan

Attending my 50 year high school reunion in 2012. I'm taking my 24 year old trophy wife. I work out each day, sometimes twice, run marathons, do 75 one arm pushups each day, bench press 285 lbs, and have an 18 year old mistress.

FOR SALE: Ocean view property near Yuma, AZ.
