Default Passing of a MARC/MAFCA Member

I am saddened to report that Dick Lewis (my father) passed away Wednesday evening after suffering a stroke 24 hours earlier.

You may know Dick Lewis for his illustrations (cartoons showed up in various publications) most recently in the Pony Express Tour booklet. He also designed numerous logos - again most recently the Pony Express Tour logo.

He was an avid illustrator, and more importantly he considered every person he met one of his friends. The newsletter for the Ohio Valley Region was his baby and he was recognized many times over for his work. Interesting challenge would be to find a newsletter that includes a picture of him. He always carried a notepad and camera; one never knows when a cartoon was waiting to happen!

I'm new to the Model A world, but I enjoyed being able to lead him on a tour in Merrillville and at the end of June followed him in our 31 Coupe around southern Indiana during a family visit after the French Lick meet. Every time ending with a vanilla ice cream cone.

The funeral arrangements are not finalized, and we are working through the rest of the details.

Please keep his wife, family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

I know he will be missed - I sure do miss him now.

It is another sad day in the model A Family as Dick always kept as laughing at his cartoons and his wonderful sense of humor.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and his whole family,
Ken and Helen
