1930 CCPU Paint Colors
I am still debating as to what color to paint my 1930 Ford Model A Closed Cab Pickup. I am now taking a closer look at Ford Model A Pickup colors.
I would like to see photos of Model A Pickups painted in the following colors: Duchess Blue, French Gray(realize this was not intended to be a body color), Aurora Red, and Rubelite Red. Thanks. |

Re: 1930 CCPU Paint Colors
I remember reading an article on painting restored vehicles, and the suggestion imparted was, if you are unsure if a color would look good on your vehicle, then revert to the factory colors. The decision was made for me with the AA Express that I just purchased as it had already been painted a maroon with black fenders. I had somewhat of an issue with it at first, but when I arrived to look it over it had grown on me by the time I decided to purchase it. It more than likely would not have been my choice, but as the paint job had been done so well and I will end up using it as a daily driver it all played a part in my acceptance. Another point to consider is the value that it adds to a vehicle that is to be shown and at some point in time in the future, sold.
Just some fodder for thought. |

Re: 1930 CCPU Paint Colors
As to what the factory colors looked like, MAFCA & MARC clubs both have a book with the color chips provided and the instructions that were provided during that era. Interesting read and perhaps would aide you in picking a color. Hope this helps.
