Default Flywheel wobble

I did a flywheel wobble test. Came up with an 0.008 variance, Limit is supposed to be 0.005. What do I do now?

First thing to try after carefully inspecting the flange, dowels, & mounting surface of the flywheel, is to try installing it at 180 degrees from the first location and checking it again. If it's still out of spec, a person should check the crank flange and see what kind of flange end runout is there. It can be trued up if need be. The flywheel can also be chucked in a lathe and checked for warpage.

If you were in the process of rebuilding the engine the procedure would be to check and true up the flywheel and/or crankshaft flange. If not in the process of a rebuild, and there is no clutch chatter, the run out overage is less than a hair so I would not worry about it but be aware of it if eventually planning a total engine rebuild. The school solution would be to pull the flywheel and have it checked and machined if necessary. If it was true I would be reluctant to pull the crank to true the flange unless going the full rebuild route. Definitely a judgement call.
