When we visited Pearl Harbor, quite a few years ago now, we went by boat. On the way to the Arizona Memorial we passed the rusted remains of the Utah, I believe it was, just pulled over far enough to clear the channel, and left there. To me that rusted hulk of a ship was far more moving than the Arizona Memorial. No flag flying, no plaques with names, nothing but the rusty hulk. I cannot get it out of my mind to this day.

I just posted the same REMEMER post #6 on HAMB and the moderator deleted it saying it was "off topic". Here's the rest of the article that was also deleted.

"Never forget".... so often some do. Also forgotten is the fact that Ford, Lionel and others built most of the "products" that helped our wonderful military win WW2.

Jusy my $.02
Most of us have a family history during WWII.
I'm all for lionizing them as the "greatest generation". However, I left some of my friends/brothers in a jungle many years ago. They were no less great, just as every generation has done when their country called.
My country has been attacked numerous times in it's history the most recent being 9-11 and January 6th 2021.
We must always be vigilant of the enemies of our country both foreign and domestic.
